CKAA Gear

Practice Gear – CKAA invests in gear to help develop our youth.  Please use the items. If you have thoughts or suggestions, please let Jacques or Chris know and we can see about purchasing to add to the inventory.  Please take care of our gear!  Put it away the correct way and in the correct bins.  Everything is labeled!

  • Max BP Machines.  Please do not mix multicolored balls (blue/yellow) with white ones. – Good for hitting, teaching catchers how to catch, 1B drills, fly balls, catching, etc.

  • Fielding pancakes – great for teaching 2 hands while catching and ground balls.  Also with fly balls from max BP.

  • Batting Tees – We invest in great tees.  They are expensive and we cannot take them, leave them out in the elements, or lose them.  These are Jugs tees and weighted in the bottom.  We also have screw-in tee stems for different heights.

  • Batting Cage Balls – There are batting cage balls in the shed behind the cages.  The code for the lock is 1956.  Please DO NOT use your assigned team balls (the concrete tears up the leather covers), or the dimple balls in the cage.  Each league has 2 full buckets of balls in the shed.  There are 5” baseballs, 11” softballs, and 12” softballs.

  • Squish balls, tennis, and whiffle balls – Not intimidating balls for beginners and learning catching and fly balls.

  • Dimple Balls – These are yellow balls that look like big rubber golf balls.  They are to be used in the 2-wheel spin doctor pitching machine only.

  • Dodge Balls – These balls can be used in various hitting drills to help with the bat path as well as placing it on the tee for other drills.  They are available if needed and a great tool if used the right way.

  • Nerf Dart Gun with Darts – Great for fly ball tracking and game.  Only coaches are allowed to operate.  Keep it out of children’s hands, please.

  • Tarp – Learn how to slide.  Educate yourself to teach hands up so no broken hands, arms, or fingers…Watch the video on sliding

  • Heavy balls – no more than 6 swings before switching.  Great to teach players to swing through the ball.

  • Pitching MachinePlease only use dimple balls.  There are straight legs for baseball and short legs for softball.  This can also be used for more intense fly balls.  Do not adjust the settings, please.

  • Agility Ladder – This ladder can be used for many different applications outside of just agility.  You can find ways to incorporate it into drills like football handoffs, routes, or obstacle courses.  In softball or baseball, you can use it for infield and other applications.

  • Cones

  • Jump Ropes
